I just downloaded a fresh 12.04.1 cd and installed it on a fresh, new system.
Odly enough the password didn't work to login the first time. But, afraid I misspelled the password (twice?, odd..) I tried a few different combinations of keys which are right next to the initial password. Trying over and over again, at once I logged on. Thinking I misspelled the password, I rebooted and booted to the Command Line root. Using the passwd [username] option it gave me the option to change the password. Tried to change it, same as #4: passwd: Authentication token manipulation error passwd: password unchanged Now a fresh install and auto-login to bypass the problem. Pretty serious, definately for new users who don't understand what's happening to them! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to seahorse in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838936 Title: Wrong password everytime Status in “seahorse” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Everytime I need to enter my password I always get the wrong password message.
