Title:
crash reports might not be set as "private" by default
Status in “apport” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Actually on Oneiric testing, all the crashes are automatically reported as
"private" by default, even if the user dont care and/or know about it. Its a
real pain:
- flood launchpad with duplicates themselves hidden by apport retracing
service, so the user bug reporter cant follow/see its bug report without
searching for duplicates.
- there are already a bunch of "private" reported bugs: way to much:
http://reports.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/launchpad-database/private-apport-crashes.html
Propositions:
- apport should have optin confirmation
- or only hide data but not bug title and description symptoms
