Title:
Everything in Panel appears twice

Bug description:
Binary package hint: indicator-applet
My Plasma TV Monitor was coming up as 1024x768 after an upgrade to
Natty. To restore the native resolution of 1360x768, I added the
commands:
xrandr --newmode "1360x768_60.00" 84.75 1360 1432 1568 1776 768 771 781
798 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1360x768_60.00
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1360x768_60.00
To /etc/gdm/Init/Default
This fixed the resolution problem, but unfortunately has messed with
the panel in Unity. I will attach a screenshot. Essentially the entire
indicator area appears twice, side by side. Both "copies" are fully
functional.
I tried switching to Unity 2D to see if somehow that would help, but
it didn't make a difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
