Public bug reported: I tried to move many emails (thousands) from one folder to another. This caused Thunderbird to use massive amounts of memory (my system has 4GB, and nearly all was allocated to Thunderbird, with swap space well on the way to being full). Thunderbird froze. Subsequently, Thunderbird brought up the "a script on this page has stopped working" dialog. Even moving about a hundred emails at once causes large and noticeable memory use. ** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1039837 Moving many emails between folders causes Thunderbird to use massive amounts of memory -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039836 Title: Moving many emails between folders causes Thunderbird to use massive amounts of memory Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I tried to move many emails (thousands) from one folder to another.
