There was an issue with searching dpkg terminal log files for specific
error messages which is resolved now.

Bug description:
I am on Ubuntu12.10 Quantal 64bit.
During upgrading the system a install error of the package libav-tools
occures.
Apport recognized this and tried to create a bugreport for.
This fails with the message(pop-up):
Invalid problem report
An error occurred while attempting to process this problem report:
can't use a string pattern on a bytes-like object
