Public bug reported:

When I plug in the phone, an error message pops up, usually this one:
Unable to mount SAMSUNG_Android
Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device

Nothing relevant appears in the system log:
Aug 6 09:06:39 tadzim2 kernel: [42634.627632] usb 2-1.2: new high-speed USB
device number 21 using ehci_hcd
Aug 6 09:06:39 tadzim2 kernel: [42634.721800] cdc_acm 2-1.2:1.1: This device
cannot do calls on its own. It is not a modem.
Aug 6 09:06:39 tadzim2 kernel: [42634.721953] cdc_acm 2-1.2:1.1: ttyACM0: USB
ACM device

Although the newly mounted partitions (internal memory and SD card) do
appear in Nautilus, only the first-level directories are listed; all
appear empty, although I know there are actually files in there:

On the other hand, using gmtp does show the files, but it is extremely
slow to connect to the device, and is not reliable (it starts to fail
after downloading a few files).

I've seen other MTP-related bug reports, but none with these exact
symptoms (ie. showing first-level directories only).
