This bug was fixed in the package evince - 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.3

---------------
evince (3.4.0-0ubuntu1.3) precise-proposed; urgency=low

  * debian/control.in:
    - updated the evince-common replaces on evince, the previous version
      was good for lucid to precise updates but not for lucid-updates,
      should be enough to work with any lucid new revision (lp: #1015737)

evince (3.4.0-0ubuntu1.2) precise-proposed; urgency=low

  * debian/apparmor-profile:
    - allow 'w' to @{HOME}/** for the previewer also to
      allow 'Print to file' (LP: #994243).

  Fix Released
Status in “evince” source package in Precise:

Bug description:
  I open up a document with evince and try to print some of the pages to
  a pdf file. When I select to preview the pages I want to print and
  then press "print" it does not work - I get a pop up window with
  "Error opening file "/home/fred/Document/utdata.pdf": Access is
  denied".

  But if I press "print" without going to the preview window it works.
