Please can we add the ability to make dsl (pppoe) connections over wi- fi using the network manager. You can do it over wired but not over wifi.
The workaround is shown here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1561579 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613679 Title: DSL Connections are not showing up over Wireless Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: network-manager DSL Connections (PPPoE) are always listed under Wired Networks, so when you are connected to a Wireless Network, they will not be listed, and you can not connect to them. I have PPPoE over my Wireless Network, and I should always use command line (pppoeconf, pon, poff) to make the connection. However, when I'm connecting to the network using an Ethernet cable, they will show up and I can use them without any problem. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release: 10.04 $ dpkg -s network-manager Package: network-manager Architecture: i386 Version: 0.8-0ubuntu3 $ dpkg -s network-manager-gnome Package: network-manager-gnome Architecture: i386 Version: 0.8-0ubuntu3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/613679/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
