Bug description:
After doing a fresh install of Lucid on a friend's older laptop, I was
pleased to see all hardware detected and working. My friend was also
impressed, as a new linux user. Sadly, his internet connection
requires he connect via PPPoE using his wireless card, as his router
is limited to allowing wireless functionality, but not remaining
always connected. Making linux dial-up a PPPoE ADSL connectino proved
virtually impossible, even after searching through countless forums.
This process should not be so hard. Windows XP did it in a pinch.
Countless users will be turned off of Ubuntu if this type of issue
  continues.
