Andreas, are you still seeing this issue or have you since re-created
your wireless settings?
If you could take a backup of the gconf settings (there should be an
option to do this is gconf-editor) for the /system/networking branch and
send it to my by email (since that can contain some sensitive data, even
though there shouldn't be any passwords), then I can try to fix that
particular case for conversion -- there ought to be one small setting
that has the convert fail.

Bug description:
I've updated my system from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10-beta2. As a consequence of
this update, ALL of my wireless and VPN configurations are lost. This means I
have to reconfigure all of them again.
