I am experiencing this problem as well.  I am using Ubuntu 12.04 with
wine 1.5.8 (But saw this problem on the normal wine 1.3 package as
well.)  No matter what wine app I run, the Unity launcher gives it the
google sketchup icon.

  When running Steam in Wine most of the time the icon for steam that
  supposed to show up in the notification area instead duplicates the
  closest icon. The icon still function for steam just has the incorrect
  picture.
