Can you post a syslog snippet showing everything that's printed when
switching Wi-Fi networks and a long time is taken?

And then another snippet showing everything that's printed when
disconnecting one Wi-Fi network and connecting to another (not taking a
long time)?

** Summary changed:

- long time switching networks unless disconnected first
+ NM takes a long time to switch Wi-Fi networks unless user disconnects first
-- Broadcom 4312

** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete

Title:
NM takes a long time to switch Wi-Fi networks unless user disconnects
  first -- Broadcom 4312

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
(I am running latest Oneiric as of 15 October 2011.) I have two WiFi
networks. If I am connected to one and connect to the other without
disconnecting first, it takes ~30 seconds to connect. If I disconnect
from the one before connecting to the other, connection is almost
instantaneous. Connection without first disconnecting should also be
  instantaneous.
