  on-screen keyboard does not persist

Status in “unity-greeter” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  If you select the on-screen keyboard, it displays fine the first
  login. However it is not displayed for subsequent log ins even though
  the option remains 'ticked' You need to un-tick and reselect it to re-
  display the keyboard.
