I have found a way to reproduce it.
Copy a random file or folder.
When you go to a Local (i mean not a netwok mounted folder) and you get a
normal paste in option.
When you mount a folder with gvfs (I used a smb mount) and try tou use the
paste in, it is grey but you can still use it.

Can someonse else reproduce it like I did? The samba mount is password
protected (if this matters)

Title:
  button stays grey on mouse click: paste in folder

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I use Ubuntu 12.04 with unity version 5.10.0-0ubuntu6. NL (Dutch)
  When I copy a folder (or file) and I want to paste the content in an other
folder, the option Paste in Folder is gray. It is gray but you can click and
use it.
  Under Ubuntu 11.10 it was not, did this behavior changed?
