To replicate:
1: Type some text
2: Select some of the text and format as bold
3: Deselect the bold text
4: Select some of the bold text
5: Type something else
Expected result: the new text should also be bold
Actual result: the new text is not bold, and is sometimes even a different
size and font from the surrounding text.
