Happens to me on my Lenovo X220t with an external Lenovo CD/DVD writer.
Before that, it also happened on my Lenovo X301 with the internal TSSTcorp
writer.

If I let Brasero create the image and then burn the image manually via
commandline the CDs work fine afterwards. If I let Brasero do the
burning the CDs are unreadable.

Title:
  Brasero burns unreadable disks

Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Every CD (or DVD) I burn in Brasero fails. The cheksum retourn an
error, and the disk is unreadable by any PC. I had this problem in
Ubuntu 11.10 and I is still happening in Ubuntu 12.04. I tested in two
notebooks (Toshiba m305 and HP Envy 14) with the same results in both.
K3B works fine in this PCs.

I think this is a pretty serious issue, because an uninformed user may
  loss data because of this.
