Public bug reported:

The search keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work.
Ctrl+f (search) moves the cursor to the next character
and Ctrl+h (replace) works like the backspace key.
Ctrl+a appears to do nothing

I haven't changed any gedit settings

$ gedit -V
gedit - Version 3.4.1

on a fully updated Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

probably related to this http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
