Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. Compiz, in particular, is
in heavy development and this bug may have been fixed in the next
version of Ubuntu (12.04) if not on the current 11.10 release. If you
are able, it would be of great help if you could confirm if the bug
still exists by testing a livecd or live thumb drive (available at
http://www.ubuntu.com). When you test it and if it is still an issue,
kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any
other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. Please keep in
mind that I am not recommending you change your current setup - this
would merely be beneficial to see if the issue persists in a newer
version. I seem to be unable to reproduce this issue on 12.04.

Bug description:
It looks like when I tell an Empathy window to stay visible on all
workspaces, the instruction is sometimes lost. My best guess would be
whenever a new tab is added.
It would be nice if this setting would stop being forgotten every time
I add a chat as it's forcing me to re-pin the window each time. Also
what would be nice would be if pinned windows retained their pinning
preference after being closed for when they next open.
Part bug, part feature. But definitely a bug.
