Title: package gnome-panel 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: short read on buffer copy for backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/gnome- panel/4.0/libclock-applet.so' Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I cannot use my package system at all. Whenever i try to install/uninstall/upgrade, it says "The package system is broken Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since they are a common source of problems. Furthermore run the following command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f". The following packages have unmet dependencies: gnome-panel: Depends: libecal1.2-10 (>= 3.1.92) but it is not installed Depends: libedataserver1.2-15 (>= 3.1.92) but it is not installed Depends: libxrandr2 (>= 2:1.2.99.3) but 2:1.3.2-2 is installed Depends: gnome-panel-data (= 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu1) but 1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1 is installed After that it says that update manager has crashed unexpectedly.
