Title:
  package gnome-panel 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: short
  read on buffer copy for backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/gnome-
  panel/4.0/libclock-applet.so'

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I cannot use my package system at all. Whenever i try to
  install/uninstall/upgrade, it says "The package system is broken Check
  if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since
  they are a common source of problems. Furthermore run the following
  command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f".

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:

  gnome-panel: Depends: libecal1.2-10 (>= 3.1.92) but it is not installed
               Depends: libedataserver1.2-15 (>= 3.1.92) but it is not installed
               Depends: libxrandr2 (>= 2:1.2.99.3) but 2:1.3.2-2 is installed
               Depends: gnome-panel-data (= 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu1) but
1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1 is installed

  After that it says that update manager has crashed unexpectedly. Report
crash. This happens EVERY time.
  I also tried "sudo apt-get install -f". Here is the output:
