login screen does not appear while using lightdm

Bug description:
Hello,
I face a problem with LightDM. I have purged gdm on my computer to migrate to
lightdm.
However, when the computer starts, I can see the blue wallpaper of XUbuntu
and the loading bar moving from left to right but the login black screen with
white points of lightdm does not appear... And so I can't log on my computer
without doing Ctrl Alt Fi, login and startx.
I use lightdm on my work computer with no problem at all but
unfortunately my level in Linux is to poor to degug on my personnal
computer.
When I type :
sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm
the command returns :
dpkg-maintscript-helper: warning: environment variable
DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_NAME missing
dpkg-maintscript-helper: warning: environment variable
DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE missing
I tried a :
sudo su
echo "/usr/sbin/lightdm" > /etc/X11/default-display-manager
exit
as proposed by Eric Le Merdy on this post :
http://askubuntu.com/questions/58023/how-can-i-make-lightdm-the-default-display-manager
but with no success.
I have gone back to gdm to temporarly solve my problem...
