  Junk data getting into terminal

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

  I have Compaq C700 series Laptop

  When I keep my terminal idle for few seconds or when i take short break while 
typing any command, then following values creeps into terminal
  [2~^[[2~^[[2~^[[2~^

  it keeps on running till i hit any key

  Initially I thought , My Keyboard must have some fault, so tried with
  another USB Key board, but the problem persist.
