You have been subscribed to a public bug by AsciiWolf (asciiwolf):
When Ptyxis is set as the default terminal if I open Vim via a GUI icon,
two Ptyxis windows open. One with Vim and another opens the regular
shell. The same happens when opening a text file from nautilus with vim.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set ptyxis as default terminal
2. Install vim, `sudo apt install vim`
3. Open the Apps menu from Gnome shell
4. Click on the Vim icon.
As extra steps to confirm this is Ptyxis bug i did this:
5. Open the old Gnome terminal
6. Set as default
7. Close it
8. Open VIM via the icon
Now only one window opens.
What happens:
Vim is opened on one Ptyxis windows and another Ptyxis window open the usual
shell inside the home directory.
Expected behavior:
Only one window to open.
This happens on Ubuntu 25.10 with Ptyxis 49.1-1.
