The Linux distribution business model is different than Windows and
MacOS. People buy a Windows license or Mac and they get free support for
a limited time. Microsoft and Apple are not motivated to fix bugs and
add features because they made money when you bought their product.
Adding features and fixing bugs requires time and labor which costs
money. They make money when you buy a new license or product.

Linux is different. Linux is free to use indefinitely, but solving
issues requires time and labor. Linux gives you options.

1. Fix the issue yourself. If you know software development, you can fix the
bug or add the feature.
2. Pay the Linux distribution company. If you pay them, you get high priority
and your issue will be resolved quicker.
3. Pay a trusted Linux software developer.
4. Pool money with other users who want bug fixed or feature added. Each user
pays the Linux distribution company a small amount of the total cost to solve
the issue. Cost is spread across multiple users and cost per user is lower.
5. Wait for Linux distribution company or Linux software developer to
voluntarily fix the bug or add the feature. This option is free but only issues
that require very little time or urgent security issues are likely to be fixed.
Issues the require more software development time are very low priority.
