I executed the following commands. It seems that my system already is
updated to libexiv2-27 0.27.5-3ubuntu1.3.

More information: it is just this one particular .xcf file that causes
the crash, whether by double-clicking on it, or by opening it in an
already running GIMP. I tried three other .xcf files, and they were
opened normally, or GIMP launched normally and opened them. It contains
personal information, so I'd rather not post it for all to see.
