Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 25.04 with GNOME Shell 48 (Wayland and Xorg), grouped
notifications disappear entirely when clicked to expand. Instead of
showing the individual notifications, the entire group vanishes from the
message tray.

This happens consistently, even in a fresh user account, with all
extensions disabled. The issue also persists across different sessions
(GNOME, GNOME Classic, Ubuntu on Xorg).

Running journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell -f shows repeated errors like:

Object .Gjs_ui_messageTray_Notification (...) has been already disposed —
impossible to emit any signal on it.
This suggests that the notification object is prematurely destroyed, and
interaction with it (like expanding the group) causes a failure in rendering or
handling the stack.

Shader compilation errors also appear in the logs, indicating possible
UI rendering issues related to this bug.
