Thanks so much for the detailed response and for pointing me to those
Mutter merge requests—very helpful!

Unfortunately, my machine (Lenovo P16 Gen 2) doesn't have any external
display outputs wired directly to the iGPU—all USB-C and HDMI ports are
connected to the NVIDIA GPU. So I can't make use of the iGPU for
external displays as a workaround.

Given that, I was wondering: is there a Wayland-compatible equivalent to
prime-select nvidia that would allow me to run everything on the NVIDIA
GPU, like I used to in X11? Or does the current Wayland architecture
still rely on the iGPU being the primary driver, even when the dGPU is
used for rendering?
