One remark, to test setup of an arbitrary printer which you do not actually have, set "FileDevice yes" in /etc/cups/cups-files.conf, restart CUPS and then run the commands:
cd /usr/share/system-config-printer/ python newprinter.py --setup-printer=file:/tmp/printout --devid='MFG:Canon;MDL:MP160;' Replace the terms after MFG: and MDL: by manufacturer and model of the desired printer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1248303 Title: Regression: installing gutenprint printer driver fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1248303/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
