I'm having a similar problem in Lucid (beta 1): Some utilities, like wget, curl etc. don't receive the updated proxy settings when clicking "apply system-wide"
Applications like Firefox get the correct proxy settings. Here's the output from the terminal: cb_make_system_default reseting proxy http reset_proxy() returned: 1 reseting proxy ftp reset_proxy() returned: 1 reseting proxy https reset_proxy() returned: 1 set_set_to_system_gconf_helper ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [libslab_get_gconf_value: error getting /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/lock-down/user_modifiable_apps] ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [load_xbel_store: couldn't load bookmark file [NULL] ] ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [libslab_get_gconf_value: error getting /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/lock-down/user_modifiable_apps] ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [load_xbel_store: couldn't load bookmark file [NULL] ] ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [libslab_get_gconf_value: error getting /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/lock-down/user_modifiable_apps] ** (gnome-control-center:16642): WARNING **: error raised: [load_xbel_store: couldn't load bookmark file [NULL] ] -- [gnome-network-properties] Unable to apply proxy system-wide https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384878 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
