Thank you for reassigning the bug to gdm. I did not know the difference. Version of Ubuntu was 9.10 phase 2 with updates. I am now running phase 2 without updates, and there is no problem.
To make the commands you suggest -ls -ld /var/lib/gdm -id gdm -dpkg -l gdm I will have to install the updates, and copy the information to paper, reinstall a stable ubuntu, and make up an email message with the information. I will do that. Is there a way to copy, cut, and paste from a text-based terminal window? I am more familiar with the gui process than text On Thu, Jul 2, 2009 at 8:19 AM, Sebastien Bacher <[email protected]> wrote: > could you run: > - ls -ld /var/lib/gdm > - id gdm > - dpkg -l gdm > > and copy those informations to the bug? > > -- > Grub error message on first re-boot > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/394727 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > -- Grub error message on first re-boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/394727 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
