My main concern is the 'replace' functionality, which previously declared the number of items that are found and replaced as a popup. Now this information is written somewhere in the dialog (ctrl+H), but it is not in a way that screen readers can read it as before.

"Replace All" shows "Search key replaced %d times." and with the patch a popup brings this to the user's attention. Two solutions come in mind:

* focus the label so screen readers will read it
* add a checkbox "[x] Show this dialog" (similar to Calc) that allows
to hide it (requires another checkbox to reactivate it, in case of Calc
it's tools > options > calc > view: summary on search); ideally this
dialog shows more information or contains links to the actual places
  where changes were made
