Richard, The most recent git build on Ubuntu seems to uncovered a long standing bug. I see that you tried to fix in September. Denemo is by default saving my files as .denemo but these are no longer xml files like denemo used to do. It is actually a compressed .gz file. The problem comes when I try to load a filename.denemo then at the command line I see that denemo is looking for filename.denemo.gz. It does not find it and fails to load. Once I renamed it to add .gz then uncompressed it, denemo was able to open it properly. I was not sure if the .denemo is going to contain data that can be either uncompressed and compressed.
