Follow-up Comment #1:
The only way round this is to turn off tooltips altogether (via the
preferences). Well, not *quite* it is _possible_ to program. say, the middle
button of your mouse to issue the command Stop Play and move the mouse pointer
out of trouble during play.
(out of trouble = away from any button etc that pops up help)
