Follow-up Comment #1:
The default shortcuts mean that
Home, Shift-End
does this.
The command called by the Shift-End shortcut is badly labelled (in the
Edit->Select->Create and Extend Selection) so I have fixed it now. (It used to
be the only Go To End command).
