Follow-up Comment #1:
It is rather worse than reported: if the bar is partially filled and the
spillover preference is set then the bar is filled out tied to a breve in the
next bar.
I've fixed this in the only reasonable way: invoking Breve or Longa now turns
off the spillover preference. To turn it back on go to Edit->Change
Preferences->Command Behavior
Fix in the repository now, meanwhile just turn off spillover.
