Follow-up Comment #3:
If your are right then what is showing is the Snippets bar - Choose
View->Snippets and it should disappear. In which case what is showing is a
button that should be labelled "Create Snippet"
which in the current ja translation is "スニペットを作成" (that
translation was updated yesterday, so may not be the same).
You can turn off the translation by setting the environment variable LANGUAGE
to an appropriate value - in UNIX
export LANGUAGE=en && denemo
should work.
