We're using the previous version of the patch locally for testing.  Presumably 
we won't see any problems if we don't have any broken quoting?

Yep, first, the documentation needs to be updated.  Second, I'm a bit
unhappy with the latest revision of the patch and how it protects
against broken quoting.  I need to think about this again when it
doesn't cause my brain to melt. :-)
