Hello, after Xorg 7.4 moved into squeeze, scrolling, displaying text or
graphics, drawing new windows takes many seconds or even minutes.
I have an intel integrated graphics chip. From lspci -v :
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20e4
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 29
Memory at f0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]
Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
I/O ports at 1800 [size=8]
Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled]
Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit-
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 3
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
Subsystem: Lenovo Device 20e4
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0
Memory at f0400000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 3
Thinking this was bug #541307, I installed the recommended kernel from
unstable. This had no apparent effect.
Thank you, Alex

Intel driver 2.8.x requires UXA which needs GEM support in the kernel.
In 2.6.30, GEM is incompatible with PAE, so you cannot use a
2.6..30-bigmem kernel. You must either upgrade to 2.6.31 or use a
non-bigmem kernel. Otherwise, you get no acceleration and everything is
slow.
