Also interesting to note is all the stuff that accumulates in this directory: $ ls -ogtu /etc/X11/Xsession.d -rw-r--r-- 1 1878 2007-12-30 23:39 20x11-common_process-args -rw-r--r-- 1 1871 2007-12-30 23:39 20xfree86-common_process-args -rw-r--r-- 1 899 2007-12-30 23:39 30x11-common_xresources -rw-r--r-- 1 894 2007-12-30 23:39 30xfree86-common_xresources -rw-r--r-- 1 1561 2007-12-30 23:39 50x11-common_determine-startup -rw-r--r-- 1 1565 2007-12-30 23:39 50xfree86-common_determine-startup -rw-r--r-- 1 381 2007-12-30 23:39 75dbus_dbus-launch -rw-r--r-- 1 612 2007-12-30 23:39 90x11-common_ssh-agent -rw-r--r-- 1 616 2007-12-30 23:39 90xfree86-common_ssh-agent -rw-r--r-- 1 166 2007-12-30 23:39 99x11-common_start -rw-r--r-- 1 1818 2007-12-30 23:25 90im-switch.~1~ -rw-r--r-- 1 170 2007-12-30 23:25 99xfree86-common_start
Yes, the upgrade from XFree86 did not remove those files before installing the new ones.
Can I remove these? $ find /etc/X11|grep 86 /etc/X11/Xsession.d/30xfree86-common_xresources /etc/X11/Xsession.d/50xfree86-common_determine-startup /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90xfree86-common_ssh-agent /etc/X11/Xsession.d/99xfree86-common_start /etc/X11/Xsession.d/20xfree86-common_process-args /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Don't know about the ones I removed, but these ones should be ok. Brice -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
