There is a pretty big difference between those two binary packages. 16.1+dfsg1-2~bpo8+1 uses dependencies only from jessie and jessie-backports and 17.0~rc2+dfsg1-1 uses dependencies from sid only. The issue can be caused either by kodi or any dependency.
