There is already another compiler based on LLVM for the D Programming Language. You can consider to add it too to the pkg-llvm group.
Maybe you can join efforts, there is already an ITP (#508070[1]) for ldc. BTW, ldc now depends on LLVM 2.5 (which is in Debian testing/unstable), so I guess ldc can be packaged without problems.
