Hello! > I will be packaging the latest SVN version of ioquake3 > with baseq3 specific menu entries and launcher scripts,
I think ioquake3 was once packaged; there's an in-progress package in the Debian games team. I invite you to join the Debian Games team (<http://alioth.debian.org/project/request.php?group_id=30862>) and work on the existing packaging effort, please, rather than create another. > it will depend on the existing quake3-data (installer) > package. Essentially it will allow owners of a copy of the > commercial quake3 data an easy method to play the original > game on Debian systems. Please don't do this. Instead help us implement support for quake3 in the "game-package" package, also in the games team (although I am preparing an imminent release). This is technically a better way of supporting non-free binary data and keeps the archive clean. > The source package will be named quake3, building binary > packages quake3 and quake3-server. We call the source package "ioquake3". Since there are more than one quake3 engine, it is not a good idea for any one to be branded "quake3", as this suggests it is definitive, which is misleading. -- Jon Dowland -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
