This software got meanwhile version 9.x and Adrian Robert is working hard on getting it included into emacs mainline. Please leave this bug open. The package is ready and was several times in new queue, however ftp-master doesn't like the code duplication. So we wait a bit longer until it's in mainline emacs and see how the package can be made, and this bug closed (better late than never).
