from sourceforge and unpacked it.

To explain, the AUTHORS file is empty, although the source code
files seem to have the right format (I have looked in a few files).
There are a couple of codecs that are in the source and which have
no source. Not sure if those can be replaced with something free.
Although the project says GNU GPL on the Trove Map, the text of the
license is not in the package.
The raw files there don't bother me since they can be removed and
replaced by free equivalents or something in that area.
What I am most concerned is the codecs and the fact that the code
seems to be maintained at the edge of functionability and it looks
like the kind of source that comes from people that do not know/care
about free as in freedom, but about free as in beer.
