I meanwhile found the time to have a further look at captive. As far
as I can see this package is rather a wrapper around a Windows DLL. So
it either needs that DLL (which is probably highly non-free) or a
working Windows installation.
As of today the README for Knoppix tells me that a combination of
libntfs and fuse provides (limited) write support on NTFS. So I guess
packaging of captive is not more necessary.

What do you thing?
