I just built this application from svn for sid on amd64 and it is very impressive. It built without protests for KDE 3.5 with GCC 4.0.2. The last release is 0.7 beta1 from 31 Aug 2005; I built from SVN and have had no stability problems. There are likely still bugs in this release that may compromise stability, but releasing the application for sid would be the way to discover them. This is the most feature-rich ftp client I've seen on Linux and it's integrated into KDE (part of KDE Extragear) is a big plus. There is nothing like this application in Debian at the moment. The best comparable ftp client for KDE is KBear, but it is currently not actively maintained and crashes after the first file transfer. Kasablanca (which is also not in Debian, cf. #292874) is very elegant, but it is not actively developed and too feature-poor to be a realistic alternative at this point. There is a serious need for an FTP client that handles TLS/SSL, as such sites are becoming increasingly common. * Package name : kftpgrabber Version : 0.7 Upstream Author : Jernej Kos <kostko at users.sourceforge.net> * URL : //http://sourceforge.net/projects/kftpgrabber/ * License : GPL Description : A feature-rich KDE FTP client that supports TLS/SSL KFTPGrabber is a KDE FTP client.
