I am interested in creating a Debian package for this. I can't find a license for it in its source code though, and it needs mk to build. I think you can only get mk from plan 9 ports (http://swtech.com/plan9port), which is not in Debian (yet).
There is also a version of drawterm available here: http://swtch.com/drawterm/. It is released under the LPL, and it builds on my system using make instead of mk.
