To me that does sound like a real broken sponsoring and like a ego-trip (package-count). Sorry, but there is not much Ian needs for his package maintainership that he cant access right now. I cant think of anything he would need. A proper sponsoring isnt visible anywhere in the package, except maybe a "Thanks to my sponsor" entry in changelog AND the signature of the .dsc/.changes file. One can also list the sponsor as an Uploader, but thats one step more and up to the sponsor. Sorry, just want to write my opinion here. Bye, Joerg
