NotMD makes it possible through the use of (sorta) an abstraction layer,
to mimic Sony's NetMD protocol on stereos that do not support NetMD. For
this it uses Lirc.

In response to the recent request for a status update, I close my ITP
for NotMD. This is not because I no longer plan to package NotMD but
rather to lessen the WNPP's clutter.
Currently, NotMD is being rewritten by a couple of people including
myself - development is kept private for now and a progress bar can be
seen at notmd.sf.net.
Regards,
jj
