RaLink have developed a 802.11g chipset that exists in many brands of wifi cards on the market. They started with this driver as distibuted source without right to modify. They made the mistake to include a GPL'd file though. I noticed this to the copyright holder, RaLink soon thereafter released version 1.4.4.0 under GPL. The driver was picked up by the sourceforge project rt2400, which already packaged the 802.11b driver, and was re-versionen to 1.0.0. Finally I'm able to hack and package this driver legally.
