The package is not in a bad state but I don't have too much time to maintain it. The most important unresolved problem: after upgrade there are problems with ~/.lyx configuration directory and often somethink doesn't work with old config. I don't want to just sponsor this package. If you're not a developer, I orphan the package. Rather I'd like to start the group project on Alioth. The package description is: LyX is an almost WYSIWYG-frontend for LaTeX that runs under the X Window System. It makes the power and typesetting quality of LaTeX available for people who are used to word processors. Since LyX supports LaTeX's concept of general mark-ups, it is even easier and faster to create professional quality documents with it than with usual word processors. It is also possible to use LaTeX-commands within LyX, so nothing of LaTeX's power is lost. . This meta-package installs LyX common files, the frontend (Qt or XForms) and other packages needed by LyX. . This package can be safely removed after install. . You can extend the functionality of LyX by installing these packages: * ispell or aspell: an interactive spelling corrector * kdeprint or lpr: a printing tool * konqueror or www-browser: allows to view HTML documents * kghostview or postscript-viewer: allows to view PostScript documents * kghostview or pdf-viewer: allows to view PDF documents * sgmltools-lite: allows to export SGML DocBook documents * linuxdoc-tools: allows to export SGML LinuxDoc documents * rcs: allows to use versioning feature * tex4ht or hevea or tth or latex2html: allows to export HTML documents * gnuhtml2latex: allows to import HTML documents * wv: allows to import Word documents -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers experimental APT policy: (950, 'experimental'), (900, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.4-1-686 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL -- Piotr Roszatycki, Netia SA .''`. mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] : :' : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] `. `' `- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 240439-done) by bugs.debian.org; 25 Jul 2004 10:42:48 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jul 25 03:42:48 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from hesperos.realmtech.net (hesperos.ertius.org) [216.17.101.96] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1BogSu-0001Mh-00; Sun, 25 Jul 2004 03:42:48 -0700 Received: from blerg (unknown [10.4.0.1]) by hesperos.ertius.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 61856301BE for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 25 Jul 2004 20:42:47 +1000 (EST) Received: by blerg (Postfix, from userid 1000) id C56782826C; Sun, 25 Jul 2004 11:42:44 +0100 (BST) Date: Sun, 25 Jul 2004 11:42:44 +0100 From: Rob Weir <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Package uploaded Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="s2ZSL+KKDSLx8OML" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040523i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --s2ZSL+KKDSLx8OML Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable A new release was just uploaded, closing a bunch of bugs. --=20 Words of the day: Debian argus Serbian Arnett CESID InfoSec LLNL clones th= reat --s2ZSL+KKDSLx8OML Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBA46ko5rIvG2xqDMRAk/EAKCYlbFNHU7WUN9z18E9PntK3/VZ3QCggeP2 mKXhCi0Qjm6uJHUQWWhSHYs= =ymef -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --s2ZSL+KKDSLx8OML--
